Green Friendly, Disposable Cleanroom Garments?
Instead of sending your used PPE to the landfill, The RightCycle Program enables you to send them to a Kimberly-Clark Professional™ recycling center. The gloves, apparel, and eyewear are then sorted and processed into pellets, which are used by manufacturers in the U.S. to make new consumer goods, such as flower pots, plastic shelving, and patio furniture.
At Purdue University alone, the campus requires approximately 360,000 disposable gloves each year. The figure represents 3.5 tons of waste — at just one school, not including food preparation areas. In the US alone, the education system includes over 4,298 college institutions and 98,817 public schools.
Not every institution is as large or technically expansive as Purdue, but let’s just imagine it is so. A recycling program in just one department with an average of 3.5 tons of waste per year, multiplied by 4,298 locations, equals over 15 metric tons of PPE waste in a single year alone.

Do you know of any programs for recycling packing foam? Not Styrofoam, it is a poly type foam.
Hi Randal,
If you happen to be in So Cal
1. https://earth911.com/eco-tech/so-cal-waste-company-to-collect-polystyrene-foam-curbside/
Search for a Recycling Center
2. https://search.earth911.com/?what=%236+Plastic+-+Expanded&where=zip+code&list_filter=all&max_distance=25&family_id=&latitude=&longitude=&country=&province=&city=&sponsor=
You can adjust the search term to dial in what type of material you’re looking for. I believe the material in question is expanded foam #6. I hope that helps!
