What is Phenolic Resin?
Phenolic resin is a heat-cured plastic formed from a reaction of a carbon-based alcohol and a chemical called aldehyde. The resin is hard, heat-resistant, and can be mixed with a wide range of materials for industrial or residential use.
This resin can be cured around canvas or fiber cores to create rigid parts, or in our applications, can be used to saturate paper and pressed into laminate that is popular in lab or kitchen settings.
Using Phenolic Resin Tables in a Laboratory Setting
Selecting the appropriate material for a lab setting is crucial. Hygiene, cleanliness, chemical and stain resistance are key requirements. Worktops in laboratories are especially vulnerable. The material used needs to be chemical resistant, hygienic, easy to clean and maintain, durable and flexible.
Phenolic resin meets these requirements. Phenolic material resists very high as well as very low temperature, won’t stain, etch, or warp. This material is scratch resistant, moisture-proof, and maintains aesthetic appeal for a long time.
